How I can support you

You might look like you have it all together, but inside feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of what you are feeling and why. If you tend to live in your head, avoid emotions, or feel unsure how to handle them when they do show up, you're not alone.

It can be hard to find time and space just for you in a busy, demanding world, and my goal is to provide exactly that. I believe we are all doing our best to navigate a sometimes messy and complex life, and I'm passionate about helping people explore their past and present to better understand themselves, identify strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Angel Knoles

Licensed Mental Health Counselor  ·  Nationally Certified (NCC)

I am a Nationally Certified (NCC) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 7 years of combined education and experience. After earning my graduate degree from Gonzaga University, I completed the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Intensive Training™ through BTECH, and specialized in DBT — teaching people skills to help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. I have also completed training and utilize multiple other therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and couples counseling from the Gottman Institute.

I am passionate about providing my clients a space to explore their values and experiences. We will work together to better understand your emotional and behavioral patterns, while also building concrete skills for regulation, communication, and navigating relationships. My work is grounded in DBT, with additional focus on attachment, relational dynamics, and trauma informed care.

I view emotions not as something to avoid or fix, but as meaningful signals that offer insight and direction. Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to have it all figured out. I value authenticity, honesty, and creating an environment where you can show up as you are — while also being supported and gently challenged to grow, build new skills, and create more connection in your life.

I would be honored to partner with you as you take this brave step toward greater self-understanding and well-being. I see clients virtually throughout Washington State.

My Approach

Find Clarity, Connection, and Confidence

I specialize in working with people who are used to holding it all together on the outside, but feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure and want to build deeper self awareness, improve emotional experience, and create more meaningful connections. I integrate tools from DBT, along with attachment and trauma informed approaches to help you navigate your emotions and relationships. We will explore your patterns, past experiences, and relationships, and build concrete skills to help you feel more grounded, connected, and confident.

01

Emotional Awareness & Regulation

Learning to identify, understand, and work with emotions — rather than avoiding them or being overwhelmed by them.

02

Patterns & Where They Come From

Exploring how your past — relationships, attachment, and experiences — shapes how you feel and respond today.

03

Practical Tools That Actually Help

Real skills from DBT and evidence-based approaches you can use day-to-day — not just things to think about in session.

04

Connection — To Yourself and Others

The goal isn't just to feel better in session. It's to feel more present, more grounded, and more connected in your life and relationships.

Is this you?

You might be a good fit if…

You tend to live in your head more than your emotions
You're used to pushing through or staying busy, rather than slowing down to feel
You struggle to identify, understand, or express what you're feeling
When emotions do come up, they feel overwhelming or hard to manage
You feel disconnected from yourself, or from the people you care about
You look like you have it together on the outside — but it doesn't feel that way internally
You want both practical tools and real insight — not just a place to vent

FAQs

Common questions

Do you offer in-person sessions?

All sessions are held virtually via secure video, allowing me to see clients across all of Washington State — making therapy accessible wherever you are.

Where are you licensed to practice?

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State and can see clients located anywhere within Washington.

How do I get started?

Reach out using the contact form below or click "Let's Connect." We'll schedule a free 15–20 minute consultation to make sure we're a good fit before your first full session.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum early on. Over time, frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I'd recommend checking your plan's out-of-network mental health benefits before we start.

Which session length is right for me?

50-minute sessions work well for most ongoing individual work. 90-minute sessions give more space — they're great when you're working through something complex, early in the process when there's more to cover, or when you simply want more room. For couples, 90 minutes tends to allow more meaningful progress in each session. We can always talk through what makes sense for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will be responsible for the full session fee.
